The Coach Charlie Grisham Memorial Scholarship
The Charlie Grisham Athletic Scholarship was first awarded in 2000 as a memorial by family and friends of the legendary Trojan head football coach and athletic director. This award, supported by a community endowment and the Carrollton High School Athletic Booster Club,
The Ra-Lin Memorial Scholarship
The RA-LIN Memorial Scholarship honors the life and legacy of Ron Patjens and Walt Fleming, two construction superintendents that lost their life during the 2021 global pandemic. Mr. Patjens and Mr. Fleming were passionate builders and family men committed to the pursuit of excellence in all they did. They both loved RA-LIN and were stellar models of the company’s simple approach to business – deliver as promised; be straightforward and professional; be honest and trustworthy; and provide solutions to problems. They enjoyed mentoring others and, through decades of experience in the industry, touched the lives of many in their field.
The Carrollton High School Alumni Scholarship
Established by the Class of 1966, the purpose of the Carrollton High School Alumni Scholarship is to recognize and reward the CHS tradition of excellence by honoring graduating seniors who exemplify a high level of success during their time at CHS in the areas of academics, leadership, service to community, humanitarianism, creativity and career aspirations. Scholarship recipients should show promise for continuing to advance those ideals throughout their lives and careers. The Bryson-Caylor Family Scholarship
The Bryson-Caylor Family Scholarship was established in love and appreciation for the contributions Carrollton and the Carrollton City Schools System have made to the Bryson and Caylor families since 1968. This scholarship aims to encourage a student who has met difficult challenges in his or her life with uncommon determination and to help further that student's education.
The Don Hall Band Scholarship
The Don Hall Band Scholarship, a tribute established by former students of the retired CHS band director and first awarded in 2002, each year recognizes a graduating senior who exemplifies the high level of leadership and dedication to the Trojan Band that Mr. Hall expected of his students. The Clay Robinson Family Scholarship
The Clay Robinson family scholarship was established by lifelong Carrollton resident, Clay Robinson, who has served the community for more than 27 years as a financial advisor and volunteer for various community organizations. Clay attended Oak Mountain Academy, Carrollton High School, and graduated from Darlington School in Rome before graduating from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia. Clay is the father of two daughters, Addie and Lilly, both of whom are graduates of Carrollton High School. Addie currently attends the University of Georgia and Lilly attends West Georgia Technical College, where she is pursuing her certification in welding. The scholarship was created to encourage students to pursue trade programs, such as welding, as a viable career option to achieving success and being a productive member of the workforce. The Clay Robinson Family Scholarship will provide assistance to students who attend West Georgia Technical College to pursue a trade certification or degree program.
The Charles Richard Mehaffey Scholarship
Richard Mehaffey was a 1950 Carrollton High School graduate where he lettered in football. After high school, Mr. Mehaffey proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. He then attended Georgia Tech with assistance from the GI Bill and graduated in 1958. After college, he worked at Southwire in Carrollton for several years and later was the director of the solid waste management department with Carroll County. He was active in the Jaycees and served as president, and he was also a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Carrollton. This scholarship honors the life and legacy of Mr. Mehaffey in the Carrollton community and his love for Carrollton High and Georgia Tech. The scholarship is dedicated to supporting students who aspire to become an engineer or pursue a STEM-related field after college. Although students who attend the Georgia Institute of Technology will be given strong consideration, students who are attending any stem-related post-secondary institution or program are encouraged to apply.
The Chase McDaniel "Chase the Victory" Memorial Scholarship
The Chase McDaniel "Chase the the Victory" Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of Carrollton High School student Chase McDaniel, who passed away on November 16, 2019, during his senior year, after a long battle with cancer. The scholarship is awarded each year to a student who exhibits the qualities Chase portrayed in his daily life. Chase inspired and encouraged others with an unwavering positive attitude and immense courage while sharing hope and spreading kindness to all that he met.
Ralyx Grace Price Memorial Scholarship Fund
Ralyx Grace Price, a student at Bremen High School who passed away at the age of 15, had a profound impact on many people, including those in the Carrollton High School community. Ralyx had a gentle spirit and infectious personality. She was a kind, thoughtful and trustworthy friend and her compassion and consideration for others were effortless. This scholarship was created by her family and the Stronghouse Foundation to honor her memory by helping others reach their full potential by continuing their education.
Mike Lankford Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Mike Lankford Scholarship was established in 2023 by his loving family to provide support for a student acquiring higher education. Coach Lankford served in the U.S. Army between 1968-1971, fighting in the Vietnam War from 1969-1970. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, among other recognitions, for his service. Coach Lankford returned to Carrollton in 1971 and enrolled at West Georgia College in 1973. A firm believer in the transformative power of education, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies and Education, and later, a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education and Social Studies. He was a first-generation college student. Coach Lankford’s education, gregarious personality, booming voice, and penchant for storytelling made him well-suited for his profession of teaching and coaching–a profession that spanned almost forty years. He spent some of his happiest hours in the classroom or on the field/court. This scholarship honors the memory of Coach Lankford and his legacy at Carrollton City Schools.
The John Wesley Tanner Jr. Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship, first awarded in 2003, honors the memory of Carrollton native John Wesley Tanner Jr., a successful businessman who served as president of C.M. Tanner Grocery Co. for many years.

The Ben Stallings Football Scholar Award
The CHS National Honor Society Scholarship
The National Honor Society (NHS) is a national organization committed to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These four pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception in 1921. Today, Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service. The CHS National Honor Society was established in 1976 and was later named The Sara Louthan Chapter of the CHS NHS after long-time advisor Sara Louthan. Ms. Louthan was a Special Education teacher at CHS beginning in 1978 where she served as the advisor of NHS from 1979-1992. The CHS National Honor Society Scholarship was formed in an effort to recognize senior NHS students who have upheld the four pillars of NHS acting as a leader in the school and community, serving others through community involvement, and setting an example of high integrity and moral character for their peers.

The Mr. and Mrs. Joseph B. McGinnis, Sr. Memorial Scholarship
Graduating Carrollton High School in 1955 and serving as a Carrollton Board of Education member for 28 years and as mayor of the City of Carrollton for eight, Joe McGinnis served a life dedicated to supporting students in obtaining the highest-quality public education possible. His wife, Carole Copeland McGinnis, also a native of Carrollton, was a devoted partner and mother for more than sixty-one years. The two raised three children in the Carrollton community and remained devoted to Carrollton City Schools throughout their lives. This scholarship was established by their family in 2013 to honor Joe and Carole's pride in the Carrollton City School System. It is presented annually to a graduating senior to further enhance the selected individual’s post-secondary education.

The Kyle Liam Barry Scholarship
The family of Kyle Liam Barry, a 2008 honor graduate of Carrollton High School, established a scholarship to honor the memory of the son, brother, cousin, teammate and friend who played with distinction for the Trojan Varsity Soccer Team all four years of his high school career and who continued to play soccer at the next level on an academic/athletic scholarship at Reinhardt University before completing his studies at the University of Georgia in 2012. This scholarship recognizes soccer players who distinguish themselves in the classroom, on the field, and most important, in their character. Recommendations for this scholarship are made by a panel of school faculty and leadership and selected by the Foundation Scholarship Committee.

The Officer Jason Rowell #208 Memorial Scholarship
The Officer Jason Rowell #208 Memorial Scholarship honors the life and legacy of Jason Shane Rowell who was a police officer with the Carrollton Police Department and a School Resource Officer with Carrollton City Schools. Jason grew up in the west Georgia area where he served in law enforcement for many years. He was a fixture at Friday night Trojan football games and a friend and role model to students daily. Jason had a love of music and volunteered his time with Bert’s Big Adventure, mentoring children with chronic and terminal illnesses.
The scholarship was established after Jason lost his battle with cancer in 2021. The award honors his contributions to the Carrollton community and hopes to inspire students to pursue careers in law enforcement, military, or criminal justice.
The Ronnie Walton Memorial Scholarship
The Ronnie Walton Memorial Scholarship honors the life-long educator at Carrollton High School who spent more than thirty years in the classroom teaching English and Creative Writing. He is well-remembered by his students as a devoted and inspiring teacher known for his wit and dry humor. He taught the majority of Carrollton High School students from 1973 until 2003 and remembered them well, always taking time to stop and talk to former students whenever he saw them in the community. He was always genuinely interested in hearing how and what they were doing. Mr. Walton was also an avid tennis player who successfully coached the Trojan tennis team in the 1980s and ‘90s. The scholarship honors the life and legacy of Ronnie Walton and the impact he had on students in and outside of the classroom.
The Dubba Schulenburg Art Scholarship
The Dubba Schulenburg Art Scholarship was established by family and friends in memory of Ernest Wicker "Dubba" Schulenburg. Dubba grew up in Texas where he received a Business Degree from the University of Houston and served two years in the military. After marrying his wife, Judy, he moved to Carrollton where he owned and operated Carrollton Insurance Company.
He was an accomplished artist, receiving a scholarship at twelve years old to the Houston Institute of Art to perfect his passion. He enjoyed painting, drawing and carving and his works can be seen in private homes and public spaces throughout Carrollton. This scholarship was established to remember Dubba's lasting legacy on the arts in the Carrollton community by supporting aspiring artists at Carrollton City Schools.
The "Live Like Josh" Scholarship
The "Live Like Josh" Scholarship is established in loving memory of Josh Waldrep who passed away in 2022. Josh was a Carrollton High School graduate and a remarkable individual who left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to know him. Josh was known for his ability to befriend anyone he met and bring joy to the lives of those around him. The "Live Like Josh" Scholarship stands as a testament to the enduring impact Josh had on his community and the lives he touched. By supporting students who embody his spirit, this scholarship aims to keep his memory alive and inspire the next generation to approach life with the same boundless enthusiasm.
The Trojan Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is created to honor the memory of all Trojan students and staff who have passed away, celebrating their enduring impact on our community. It embodies our commitment to preserving their legacies while fostering a sense of unity, compassion, and excellence that they exemplified. The scholarship will not only commemorate those who have gone before us, but each year will be named in honor of any current student or staff that pass away, ensuring their memory remains eternally woven into the fabric of our school community. The Joshua Roy Mabry Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship honors the memory of Joshua Roy Mabry, the longest-serving member of the Carrollton Board of Education and father and grandfather of several Carrollton High School graduates. Mr. Mabry’s family chose to honor his legacy of 29 years of consecutive service to the Carrollton school community by offering this scholarship in his memory.
